suburban centerfolds, what's up next door?
When surfing for inspiration, how to entertain and involve your own neighborhood, I stumbled upon this fantastic site.
In Australia the election / talent sites went as far as you can choose your local hot or not. Who is the coolest neighbor? What is the hottest girl next door? Which boy in the hood has the biggest chest?
I love the local feel of it. So exciting to see this peep in the hood. Make your choice!

What do you do if you as a company are responsible for the biggest environmental disaster of this decade? The disaster that is still not being solved? A disaster that still has to reach its total impact on the coast of the USA and in the ocean? An oil leak that might cause Obama, our modern time savior, to become a boogieman?
You start an online campaign to ask less for every liter of fuel! Sick imho.

Do not hide, share!
The Facebook privacy policy is way longer than the US constitution. I am not sure if it is also longer than the EU “constitution”. But since Facebook opened up a lot of its information to make new ways of networking online possible, a lot of protests have started. Some groups are concerned that their privacy is at stake. And it is true that if you like to have the highest possible privacy of your information on Facebook you have to push and change a lot of buttons. But it is possible to do.
The real question here is again, what is the core concern here? I think the issue is that there are people trying to keep things the way they are, and people who want to push things further opening up new ways, new methods, new options. Why be on Facebook and then be concerned about privacy? It is like complaining there is nothing going on on TV in the old days, there is an off-button too! If you are concerned about privacy it does not really make sense to be on Facebook, or even be on the internet. Ask the Chinese how you can control mediums. It is a day task.
I believe that Facebook is really open that they are changing and it is positive to see that they are morphing so quickly in new forms continuously. That is the model of the future, always change, always adapt, always try new things. Staying the same, being predictable, and becoming obsolete is a dead concept. The only constant is change. Be part of it, or do not participate and live in your castle mesmerizing about the good old days. The future can be so exciting, just do not be afraid.

limewire squeezed
A big hit was given to Limewire, a peer to peer service to share files. The US court decided that they do not prevent their users enough from sharing illegal files. Illegal files in this case are for instance music mp3’s that you make available for others to download.
All Limewire did is put in their service statement that it is forbidden to download such files. Since Grokster got condemned most sharing services stopped or changed their service. Limewire did not do more than make statements in their policy.
Still it feels like the state of Holland is being punished because people get murdered on its territory, and that putting in Dutch law that murder is forbidden is simply not enough. Bit sour comparison, but I feel that the public idea about the concept of copyright etc has changed enormously since the internet has been widely used.

Facebook in Nederland 2010

Because the girls here talk so much about guys in jogging wear are sexy, and I do not get it. But then all the British tourists have been wearing it since I live in Amsterdam. (and that is decades now!)
So put your sacked jeans in the trashcan. We have seen more than enough underwear and asses. The new cool thing is the tracking pants and then you dance. It looks like a helicopter, but it is the dick slang dance. dunno if we should love this or hate this….

playboy gets office proof
Playboy US is coming with a SFW (safe for work...) edition. This means that we can now safely browse the content of Playboy at work, without being fired by our bosses.
What is Playboy all about? It is sexy, not porn (at least to West European standards). But what happens if we held a poll asking why men visit playboy online? Is it the nice interviews, or the toys for boys analysis. What camera should I buy and where should I go on holidays? Or is Playboy’s raison d’etre exactly the naughty stuff? How can you make that SFW. Either in image or in text? We are curious!
